Alana asks…

How can I learn guitar notes (treble clef) after playing bass for years?

I've been playing bass for 4 years in high school band, but I just switched to the jazz band, and play electric guitar. I can play guitar, but I can't read the treble clef notes, because I'm so used to reading bass clef.

How can I learn treble?
Well, I've played piano for 8 years, I know all the notes, I just want to be able to sight read them on guitar

Tim answers:

Practice? There's no way around it you know the saying you've heard a million times practice make perfect.

Daniel asks…

How do you learn how to read guitar NOTES?

I don't want to learn how to read guitar tabs, I want to learn how to read notes. I have played violin for 8 years and I know how to read notes, so will that help me learn faster guitar notes? I just need to know I guess the basics of the guitar, to see if I really like it or note. Thanks in advance.

Tim answers:

Try musicards.net. They have flashcards for each note showing where it is on the guitar.
